Burnley CDG Awards celebrated
Boys U11s and Girls U15s take accolades at Burnley Cricket Development Group Awards 2011.
It was the turn of Lowerhouse CC to host the 2011 District Cricket Awards. Over 150 representative and meritorious awards were presented and a large audience enjoyed the evening which included a buffet. Whilst the U13 girls were the County Cup runners up, the U11 boys won their league and reached the knockout quarter final and the cup semi finals. Pride of place went to the U15 girls who were Lancashire then Northern champions before finishing 4th in the whole country.
Whilst the bowling was very good throughout the teams, there were some incredible batting performances. Samiya Rahman 129 runs @ 64.5. Joseph Halstead 212 runs @ 70.7 average and Maddy White with 179 runs @ 179 average.
Well done to all involved on a successful 2011 cricket season from Burnley. Full list of winners provided below.
