Steve Kirby formerly of Heywood CC juniors and seniors was on hand to open the brand new facility at Heywood CC.

The nets were funded by a £50,000 grant from the Sport England Inspired Facilities Fund.

Bobby Cross from Heywood CC said: "Heywood CC would like to thank the Lancashire Cricket Board for their assistance and advice in relation to the application for funding from the Sport England Inspired Facilities Fund. In particular LCB's Cricket Development Manager Bobby Denning and Cricket Support Officer Dave Hardman who were really helpful throughout the process and the end result has been that young people in the Heywood area will benefit from a wonderful new facility."
