New Nets Practice Facility for Totty!
Tottington St John’s Cricket Club, established 1887, is proud to announce the completion of their new outdoor practice nets.
The Bury based club that play in the North Manchester Cricket League can now boast two artificial lanes within an enclosed netted structure providing an ideal practice facility for both the senior cricketers and the burgeoning junior section.
The nets were constructed by ClubTurf Cricket Ltd and the overall project received £36,920 funding from Viridor Credits Environmental Company, through the Landfill Communities Fund* together with donations from local companies.
Additional development work at the club has already taken place, as part of the club’s development plans, with a fabulous pavilion extension, which now allows for small functions up to 100 people.
Speaking of the new nets, Kieran Coe, Tottington St John’s Club Development Officer said: “This is going to be great for us. We are succeeding in moving the club forward one development project per season and we are dedicated as a committee to maintaining this momentum. The new nets will enable proper coaching of our juniors and also keep practice off the square!”
Paul Bryson, Clubs and Leagues Manager for the LCB, added: "It’s great to see the club getting reward for their efforts, they have clearly thought about their priorities looking to achieve one project at a time. This facility will allow the club to develop its Playing Structures further for both Junior and Senior sections, which will also impact on the Social and Economic side of the club."
