Workshops for Coaches & Clubs
Our partners Lancashire Sports Partnership are arranging a couple of workshops for coaches and clubs at Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club.
Coach / Club event
This is a key event arranged which will include a number of different workshops for coaches and clubs. University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) lecturers will come and deliver some taster sessions for the coaches and clubs. These will include:
Participation Workshop: Liz Burkinshaw. The Lead Development Officer for participation from Sports Coach UK. This is a new workshop that has been developed which tackles how to grow and sustain participation in clubs.
Coaching Analysis, Nutrition, Strength & Conditioning and Injury Prevention: These have been selected through feedback that we have received from questionnaires completed at previous events and these were the top ones that were requested by coaches across the county from a wide variety of sporting backgrounds.
More People at Your Club: Svend Elkjaer – Sports Marketing Network. This workshop will look at how to increase membership by improving customer service and marketing within clubs.

Talent Coach Breakfast Club Workshop
This is for coaches that are working with performance athletes in national age group programmes. The workshop will look at issues around identifying talent and developing our next generation of future internationals, effectively preparing performers which looks at physical, technical, psychological and lifestyle. Also helping coaches understand the pressures & challenges the teenagers face and strategies they can use for managing them.
Thursday 29th November. Event 9am-12pm @ Preston Grasshoppers Rugby Club, Lightfoot Lane, Fulwood, Preston, Lancashire, PR4 0AP.
