Summer Camp Fun in Merseyside & SW Lancs!
45 youngsters from across Merseyside & South West Lancashire ended their summer holidays with three days of cricketing fun.
The Merseyside & SW Lancashire Cricket Development Group hosted a Summer Cricket Camp at Ormskirk CC in the borough of West Lancashire. The camp involved three days of coaching on the 29th, 30th and 31st August with Primary School aged children attending morning session whilst Secondary children took part in the afternoon.
The Camp was led by LCB staff Chris Chambers (St Helens), James Cutt (West Lancashire) and Dave Goodall (Liverpool) under the guidance of Paul Bryson (Cricket Development Manager for M&SWL). The emphasis was on providing a fun and enjoyable experience for the youngsters whilst looking to develop them as cricketers and steer the less experienced ones towards local cricket clubs.
The camp went down really well with feedback from parents, participants and coaches alike - all very positive. In what has been a very wet summer, even a day of heavy rain wasn’t able to dampen proceedings as on the Wednesday the camp headed indoors, utilising the excellent St Bede’s Cricket Centre which is just down the road from Ormskirk CC.
Our thanks go to all involved especially to Ormskirk CC and St Bede’s RC for being such accommodating hosts.
