Queen Elizabeth Grammar Go Through
Congratulations to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (Blackburn) for winning the North West Lancashire heat of this year's LCB Inter Cricket Indoor 8-a-side competition which was held at Hyndburn Sports Centre on Friday 15th March.
'QEGS' overcame Year 7 & 8 schools from Urmston Grammar (Trafford) and Norden High (Blackburn) however all 3 game were nail-biting affairs.
Game 1: NORDEN HIGH 106-2 v URMSTON GRAMMAR 104-4 (Jack Hilton and Liam Simm starred for Norden High with the bat, Jack also took 3 wickets in one over. For Urmston Jamie Greenan retired on 25).
Game 2: QEGS 87-7 v URSTON GRAMMAR 86-2 (Hal Collinge from QEGS carried his bat as wickets tumbled but he saw his team home unbeaten on 25 with 3 balls to spare).
Game 3: QEGS 124-1 v NORDEN HIGH 71-4 (Joe Halstead, Harry Newman and Harry Bedford all retiring on 25 for QEGS as the Norden bowling was put to the sword, only Richard Fox for Norden High came to grips with the accuracy of the QEGS attack).
Queen Elizabeth Grammar will now go on to the County Finals Day on April 23rd at GH Carnell.
