Ormskirk School Take the Double
Ormskirk School, who are currently Nationals Champions at both Indoor and Outdoor competitions at U13 level took on challengers Penwortham Priory, De La Salle and Glenburn Sports College at U13 and U5 levels, plus Hope Academy at U13 level, on Day 2 of the Lady Taverner's competition on 06 February.
Unfortunately for the other schools, Ormskirk School were too strong and were unbeaten all day. There was nearly an upset vs Penwortham Priory in the U15s competition, with just 1 wicket remaining and 3 runs needed with 3 balls to go it was a tense game. 1 run was scored leaving 2 from 2 but the pressure was too much for Penwortham Priory and a run out was forced by Ormskirk leaving Penwortham tied on runs but losing the game on number of wickets lost.
Good cricket was played by all and plenty of fun had by the girls, as well as gaining more understanding of the game of indoor cricket.
Thanks to all the players, teachers and assistants on the day along with Myerscough College students for umpiring and scoring as part of their work experience hours.
