Balshaws do the Double as well

Day 4 of the Lady Taverner's Girls Indoor schools competition at Robin Park in Wigan on Tuesday 11 February.

Balshaws High, Rainford High, King David, West Leigh, Lowton and Brownedge played in group stages of day 4 of the girls indoor competition at Robin Park. With Rainford vs King David and Balshaws vs West Leigh in the semi-finals, we saw some very tight games played with King David progressing to the final on losing the least wickets when the teams were tied. Balshaws beat West Leigh leaving King David vs Balshaws in the final. Some big hitting by Balshaws saw them take the 4th spot in the county U13 finals.

U15 competition saw Rainford, Balshaws, Lowton and West Leigh battle it out. Some close games again with another tied score but Balshaws were too strong remaining unbeaten in their 3 games they will also progress through to the next round at County level.

Thanks to Robin Park Sports Centre for their hospitality over the 4 days of competition. Well done to all the schools taking part, especially those competing for the first time. Thanks again to the Myerscough College students for their umpiring and scoring skills.
