Unbeaten all day Woodhey go through to regional finals.

5 schools from around the County who had won their place on the finals day at Robin Park played a straight round robin group format to find out who would go through to represent Lancashire at U13 level. The schools taking part were, Balshaws C of E High, Ormskirk School, Woodhey High, Urmston Grammar and Abraham Guest.

Round 1

Ormskirk (76) vs Balshaws (89) - Balshaws won

Urmston Grammar (70) vs Abraham Guest (60) - Urmston Grammar won

Round 2

Urmston Grammar (82) vs Balshaws (81) - Urmston Grammar won

Abraham Guest (58) vs Woodhey (77) - Woodhey Won

Round 3

Urmston Grammar (90) vs Woodhey (101) - Woodhey Won

Abaraham Guest (39) vs Ormskirk (68) - Ormskirk Won

Round 4

Woodhey (103) vs Balshaws (75) - Woodhey won

Urmston Grammar (79) vs Ormskirk (82) - Ormskirk won

Round 5

Ormskirk (36) vs Woodhey (72) - Woodhey won

Balshaws (68) vs Abraham Guest (94)

We went into the final round with the final match the decider. The winner of Ormskirk vs Woodhey would go through. Woodhey unbeaten up tp now looked strong and bowled first taking regular wickets and bowling few wides. They kepy Ormskirk to just 36. Woodhey passed this total, losing a couple of wickets along the way but booked their place in the regional final. Woodhey finished unbeaten all day and are looking forward to representing Lancashire at Headingley on 31st March. We wish them good luck!

Well done to all schools taking part today, you were the top 5 schools in the County at U13 level. Thank you to our umpires and scorers from Myerscough College and their cricket courses.

11th March will see the County Final for the U15 age group, with many of the U15 County girls present it will be a tightly faught contest with some big hitting, tactical batting and quick bowling on show.
