Winners were announced at the fourth annual LCB Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards (OSCAs) celebration dinner on 13th July 2012 in The Point (Old Trafford County Cricket Ground).

The evening was held in association with Headline Partners Lancashire County Cricket Club Foundation Trust and Audio Visual Sponsor Keyteq Presentation Services Ltd (Keyteq).

The OSCAs are aimed at recognising those volunteers in the recreational game of cricket who give so much of their time to the sport - without these individuals the game would not survive. The awards provide an ideal opportunity for supporting our huge army of unsung heroes, saying thank you and celebrating their success with them.

Winners Announced

Winners were announced for 9 different award categories for which nominations were received and short listed at a glitzy awards ceremony. There was also a Special Recognition award, which was kept a secret until the night of the ceremony.

Andrew Hayhurst (LCB Managing Director) commented: “Congratulations go to the winners and nominees of the fourth OSCAs celebration. In Lancashire, we have thousands of people who have devoted their lives to cricket and I would personally like to thank all our volunteers in Lancashire cricket, not just those honoured this evening. Many thanks also to our sponsors and personalities who have given their time to make this a truly memorable evening.”

Michelle Carney (LCCC Foundation Trust Director) added: “The LCCC Foundation is delighted to support the LCB OSCAs celebration, and in particular the Young Volunteer Award. Much of our work is centred around children and young people, and we are fully aware of the huge impact they can make in a community and sports setting. We would like to congratulate all nominees, short listed candidates and winners for their commitment to their cricket clubs across the North West.”

Whilst the LCB OSCAs Awards to volunteers took centre stage on the evening there was also some top drawer entertainment for the enjoyment of over 800 guests. Nick Knight, Sky Sports commentator, is a former Essex, Warwickshire and England player. His after dinner speech was inspirational to guests and he also took the opportunity to answer questions from the audience about his time playing the game we all love. M.C. Norman Prince, former Houghton Weavers front man, broadcaster and compere, kept everyone glued to their seats and the evening flowing.

The winners in the asterisked* categories above are now considered as Lancashire candidates at the national OSCAs event sponsored by NatWest at Lord's on 8th October 2012.

All proceeds from the evening will be invested back in to grassroots cricket across Lancashire.

Special thanks from all at the LCB go to Dave Hardman, LCB Cricket Support Officer, for organising a very successful OSCAs event.
