Lancashire Disability Hardball player Callum Flynn, aged 16 from Leigh, has been announced by Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and 5 News as one of five finalists of “Britain’s Kindest Kid 2011”.

Britain's Kindest Kid is a competition that recognises and rewards the charitable behaviour of children aged between 5 and 16 and the finalists have all demonstrated the impressive things they have done to improve the lives of others and make a real difference to the world. Their acts of kindness include volunteering for charities, fundraising, raising awareness of issues and good causes and looking after friends and members of their families.

In recognition of their achievements, on Tuesday 1 November, the five finalists visited Downing Street and meet the Prime Minister, David Cameron.

The five finalists will have their stories told on 5 News in the week beginning Monday 7 November after which everyone will be able to vote for the person they think is ‘Britain’s Kindest Kid’.

The person who receives the most votes will be announced live on 5 News on Wednesday 16 November and will receive £1,000 pocket money and £1,000 to give to charity.
