Incrediball squad back to winning ways
Lancashire Disability Incrediball squad got back to winning ways after their loss to Derbyshire with a comfortable win against Yorkshire at Woodlands CC in Bradford on Sunday 01 July.
Lancashire’s Captain Tony Foster won the toss and invited Yorkshire to bat on a green looking wicket.
Lancashire’s openers Callum Savage and Zac Green initially struggled with the strong wind but still managed to restrict Yorkshire’s scoring to 21 off 7 overs and forcing the run out of Yorkshire’s skipper Abassi. Nigel Robinson and Alan Foster came into the attack and destroyed Yorkshire’s top order, Nigel returning figures of 4 overs, 4 wickets for 10 runs and Alan 4 overs, 3 wickets for 13. Adam Wilson and Stefan Holmes mopped up the tail with Adam’s figures 2 overs 1 for 7 and Stefan’s 1 for 1. Yorkshire finishing on 59 all out.
Lancashire got off to a slow but steady start losing their first wicket at 16, skipper Tony Foster caught for 10. Callum Savage, caught for 4, was the last wicket to fall for Lancs with the score on 23. This brought Pat Scott to the crease and he and opener Steve Kenny knocked off the remaining runs in no time with Steve finishing on 16 not out and Pat 19 not out.
Yorkshire (59 all out) lost to Lancashire (60 for 2) by 8 wickets. Lancashire 25 points; Yorkshire 2 points.
A good effort by the team and after close inspection of the latest results and table, they have retained their Northern Incrediball League title. The squad’s next game is at Flixton CC on 15th July against Derbyshire.
