Lancs Disability Incrediball lose to Derbyshire

Lancashire Disability Incrediball squad lost to Derbyshire by 9 runs at Flixton on Sunday 15 July.

Derbyshire batted first and lost their first wicket for 24 with a great catch from Steve Kenny. Their second wicket fell on 27, Darkins bowled by Nigel Robinson. The 3rd also fell on 27 again, Robinson bowling Gillot out. This brought in Mike Hopkins who along with Scott Matthews put on 107 for the next wicket.

Poor fielding and catching cost Lancashire with 6 chances going down until Robinson finally took a catch to dismiss Hopkins (46) off the bowling of Zac Green. A fantastic run out by Zac followed claiming the wicket of Matthews for 56 with the score on 145. Lancs claimed 3 more wickets to leave a target of 153 to win.

Lancs bowling figures were, Nigel Robinson (5-23) and Zac Green (2-11) the pick of the bowlers.

Lancashire’s reply got of to a bad start losing 4 wickets for 21, until Nigel Robinson and Zac Green got together to put a 72 run partnership until Zac was out after he made his maiden fifty finishing with 52. Wickets then fell at regular intervals with Lancashire coming up short by 9 runs to finish on 143 all out.

Lancashire’s next game is the Semi Final against either Somerset or Hertfordshire on 5th August at either Leamington Spa CC or Kidderminster CC.
