Lancs Incrediball through to National Final
Lancashire Disability Incrediball squad go through to the National Final after a comfortable win against Hertfordshire at Kidderminster CC on Sunday 05 August.
Lancashire lost the toss and were asked to bat first. Openers Tony Foster and Steve Kenny built steadily and reached 45 before lightening and heavy rain forced the players off from the field after 12 overs. After a lengthy break play resumed with overs reduced to 28 per side. Steve Kenny was the first wicket to fall on 51 scoring 26. Tony Foster was the next to fall for 33 with the score on 81. 3 further quick wickets fell in the pursuit of quick runs, Nigel Robinson 25, Zac Green 1 and Callum Savage 7 being the victims. Pat Scott 15no and John Simpson 9no took Lancs to 135 for 5 off the allotted 28 overs.
With further rain looming Lancashire opened the bowling with their slower bowlers to try and get through 15 overs to constitute a game. Nigel Robinson 4-0-7-0 and Alan Foster 6-3-9-1 made sure Hertfordshire never got near the run rate. Zac Green replaced Nigel and returned figures of 6-1-12-1 and Callum Savage replaced Alan and returned figures of 5-0-12-1.
With the threat of rain receding skipper Tony Foster brought on Adam Wilson 3-0-11-1 and Tom Garrity 2.5-0-5-4 with John Simpson getting 1 over to leave Hertfordshire on 62 all out.
A good professional performance from Lancashire who will play Somerset in the final at The County Ground Derby on 17th September 2012.
