Lancs Incrediball Disabled Defeat Northamptonshire
Lancashire Incrediball Disabled cricket squad defeat Northamptonshire away on 14 July.
Lancashire won the toss on a hot day at Wollaston CC and decided to bat on what proved to be a good batting wicket. Lancs started off briskly with runs coming at both ends until skipper Tony Foster was given out caught off what looked like a bump ball for 14. Next in was Callum Savage who departed for 0 with the score on 42, bringing Nigel Robinson to the crease. Nigel along with opener Rick Holmes proceeded to compile a good stand of 64 before Rick was out for 40. Next at the crease was Mark McDonald who along with Nigel compiled a partnership of 116 until Nigel was needlessly run out on 90, his best score of the season with the score on 224. Stefan Holmes who along with Mark took the score to 250-4 at the end of 40 overs, with Mark finishing with 66 not out and Stefan 5 not out.
Northants lost their first wicket for 17, O’Barton run out by Tony Foster for 8. Wickets fell of C Towler for 10 caught Savage off the bowling of McDonald, Law caught McDonald off the bowling of Savage and Frantham caught Robinson off the bowling off S Holmes for 7. The next 3 wickets fell for 0 with keeper Tony Foster taking 3 stumpings off the bowling of Holmes and Wilson. The next 2 wickets fell to J Simpson both bowled for 0. Savage got the final wicket who bowled Fowler for 82 to leave Northants 148 all out off 25.4 overs.
All credit to the batsmen who set up a good total and the rest of the team who backed up in the field to ensure a fantastic win against a good Northants side. The team are looking forward to their next match against Yorkshire Incrediball Disabled squad at Blackrod CC on 4th August.
