Rain Denies Lancashire Disabled Roses Victory
In a match reduced to 30 overs per side due to rain, Lancashire Disabled Incrediball squad were denied a Roses victory on Sunday 4th August at Blackrod CC.
Winning the toss Lancashire decided to bat first and scored at a healthy rate to finish on 183 for 5 from their 30 overs. John Simpson the first to go for 21 with the score on 61 brought in Mark McDonald who along with Rick Holmes put on 47 before Rick Holmes was bowled by Robinson. Nigel Robinson fell cheaply for 10 after his 90 last time out, but Mark was still going strong. Stefan Holmes also fell for 10 which brought in 14 year old Tyler Preece for his debut. Whilst only scoring 1, Tyler enabled Mark to compile runs at the other end until Tyler was stumped. Steve Kenny along with Mark finished the innings on 183 with Mark 69no. An excellent batting performance from all the batsmen to compile a competitive total.
Yorkshire's innings started in gloomy conditions and were soon in trouble losing 2 wickets for 31 from 10 overs until the rain came.
Lancashire would like to thank Blackrod CC for their hospitality with a special thanks to Chris and his ground staff who performed miracles to try and get the game finished.
