Lancashire Disability Hardball squad won their opening match against Shropshire on Sunday 04 May at Flixton CC.

This season the both Hardball and Incrediball / Softball squads have merged into one squad and are playing hardball cricket only in the British Association for Cricketers with Disabilities (BACD) Hardball North League.

Shropshire won the toss and elected to bat first scoring 111 all out in less than 25 overs with wickets being shared by all Lancashire bowlers. New player to the squad was 13 year old Amaan Ughradar taking his first wicket for the red rose county. Overall a good bowling and fielding performance from all the team.

Lancashire’s innings got off to an excellent start with the first wicket going on the score at 52, Mark McDonald caught and bold to Heath. This brought in Tom Wilson who along with opener Adam Finneran knocked off the required runs with ease, Adam finishing with 52no and Tom 26no.

Alan Foster, Lancashire Disability Cricket Coach & Manager, said: "Whilst stronger opposition awaits us this was a great start to the season and with players due back we are in good shape for this season."

Lancashire's next game is on 18th May away against Yorkshire at Tickhill CC in Doncaster, stumps at 13:00.
