Lancashire Disabled beat their Roses counterpart for the second time this season at Winton CC on Sunday 13th July.

With both teams being weakened with international call ups Lancs won the toss and elected to bat. Lancs were soon in trouble losing their first wicket Tom Wilson for 3 with the score on 14. Next to fall was Adam Fineran for 10 with the score still on 14. This brought together M Partington and Z Green who put on 77 before Zak was caught LBW with score on 87. Next to go was Stefan Holmes bowled for 6 followed by captain Tony Foster bowled the next ball. Mat went on to score 52 before getting an LBW decision go against him. John Simpson and Waqas Khan then put on a partnership of 47 before John was bowled. Waqas battled well but was eventually bowled for 31. The last wicket partnership of Adam Wilson and Dan Chloran then saw off the remaining overs to leave Lancashire 180 for 9 after 40 overs.

Yorkshire's batting order was soon in trouble losing their first 7 wickets for just 41 runs with Stefan Holmes and Waqas Khan the main tormentors. Stef returning figures of 6-0-14-4 and Waqas 6-0-26-3, ably supported by Matty 8-3-29-0 and Zac 8-3-24-2, only Sam from Yorkshire (86) causing any trouble to the Lancs bowling attack until Adan Fineran bowled him to leave Yorkshire 148 all out from 32.3 overs.

A very satisfying win against the old enemy considering both teams were not at full strength. We would like to thank all at Winton CC for their fantastic support for the squad.

Next game is on 27th July away at Cheshire.
