Wednesday the 19th of March saw the North West Annual Regional Indoor 24 Cricket Tournament Finals take place at Salford City Colleges (Eccles Sixth Form Centre).

The Finals was represented by Salford City College, Reaseheath College and Preston College. The tournament was played in a 3 way round robin against each college twice. The standard of cricket for this participation competition was outstanding and played in a fantastic spirit too. Preston College were outright winners of the day finishing in 1st place with Reaseheath College finishing 2nd and Salford City College 3rd.

NW Sports Co-Ordinator Neil Hayden of Salford City College said: “For the  second year we've organised the NW Regional Indoor24 Tournament and yet again it has been a huge success with some excellent cricket on display. We congratulate Preston College and wish them all the best in representing NW Colleges in the National finals.”

Rudra Singh, LCB's Education Manager, added: “LCB is now working much more closely with British Colleges Sport to generate interest and support the development of cricket in all FE colleges across Lancashire. The ‘Indoor24’ format is a fun way for students to participate in the game particularly for those who have never played before. A good standard of cricket was on display at the NW Regional Finals. We will be working closely with all ’College Sports Makers’ in the region to increase the number of colleges participating in the tournament next year. Congratulations and good luck to Preston College!”
