I will be leaving the seaside behind from January 1st as i move to become Chance
to Shine Women and Girls Development Officer

My time on the Fylde coast is nearly at an end as i have been appointed in this
new role. There will be someone who will continue my role within Fylde as i move
into the office at Manchester. My role is yet to be finalised but i am looking
forward to bringing some new ideas to both junior and senior women’s cricket
within Lancashire. I will work from grassroots right through to County level. I
am looking forward to the challenge of increasing the profile of women’s
cricket, especially around senior women club teams. I will have more information
regarding this role when i start on 1st January 2012.
I hope the Lancashire Girls U13 squad are looking forward to taking to the stage
at the County Champions Dinner at the Point on 29th February where all the clubs
winning teams will be celebrating their success.
Trials are already under way for the girls squads with 19 girls selected at U13
level to attend finals trials in January. The U15 girls trials start this
weekend with over 30 girls nominated the U17 trials will be held in the new
year.
Some changes are coming from the ECB for the age group and senior women’s
cricket for 2012. The senior women are now part of division 2 along with 8 other
Counties. They will play Home or Away this year against each county once. A
20/20 competition will once again take part at the start of August. At age group
level its likely that all divisions will be grouped on performance mainly with
some geographical input. This is yet to be fully confirmed by ECB.
