Lancashire Cricket Board: Week 2 County Girls Fixtures Week 2 County Girls Fixtures ================================================================================ Jenny Laycock on 31/05/2012 16:12:00 U15s were first off the mark with a win under their belt vs Cheshire Urmston Cricket Club welcomed Cheshire and Lancashire Girls U15 on a blustery cold day. Cheshire batted first on a good wicket and a lightening outfield, a tough task ahead for the fielders! Rachel Dickinson and Hannah Knowles struck early removing the opening pair with less than 15 on the board. Erica Sanders of Cheshire got stuck in and played some great shots taking the score to 100 and herself scoring 61 before falling to a great caught and bowled off Ellie Ralston. A sharp run out by Hannah Knowles removed the next batter in and with the introduction of spin the wickets fell regularly. Nalisha Patel brought herself on bowling off spin and set about removing the rest of the batting order. She finished with 4 wickets for just 10 runs off 8 overs. Cheshire finished 130 all out off 30 overs. 130 is an admiral total to keep Cheshire too, when I arrived at 101 for 4 a big total looked likely. A solid start from Lancashire's openers set the tone with Hannah Till going for a well fought 26 and Ellie Ralston falling shortly after for 6. Emma Lamb and Nalisha Patel saw Lancashire home in 31 overs with just 2 wickets down. Nalisha topped a good day off with 52 not out along with her first victory as captain. Well done to all the girls and let’s hope the winning form continues. See photo gallery to the right for photos of some of the girls involved in the team
