Lancashire Cricket Board: Jim Cumbes Tribute Dinner Jim Cumbes Tribute Dinner ================================================================================ Dipesh Asher on 15/11/2012 11:33:00 Join us for what promises to be a great evening as we celebrate Jim's fifty years in sport and bid him farewell as he retires after 25 years at Old Trafford. Jim has enjoyed a varied professional football career as a goalkeeper with Tranmere Rovers, West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa and Southport as well as a successful cricketing career with Lancashire, Surrey, Worcestershire & Warwickshire - quite an achievement. After his playing career ended, Jim was appointed as Warwickshire’s first Commercial Manager in 1982 before returning to Old Trafford as Sales & Marketing Manager in 1987 and became Chief Executive in 1998. He was instrumental in forming the LCCC Development Association in 1994 which has raised over £2 million towards the development of cricket throughout the County and has been at the forefront of the Club’s massive redevelopment project. One of his last remaining acts in his role as Chief Executive before his well deserved retirement was to help organise this final fundraising dinner which sees one of his all-time favourite speakers Steve Kindon return to Old Trafford to entertain us with his unique brand of after dinner speaking. The very entertaining Vince Miller is our MC for the evening, whilst John Gwynne will conduct a short interview with Jim during the evening. The dinner will take place in The Point at Old Trafford on Monday 10th December 2012 (7.15 for 7.45pm) and tickets are just £30 each which includes a three course meal.
