Danielle is a regular for the England One Day team and recently made her test debut in the Ashes 2010/11 Series in Australia. They completed various fielding and catching drills prior to a couple of short games which showcased the young girls’ improving cricket skills. At the end of the training session, a well deserved buffet was prepared for the girls, coaches, parents and spectators. Chris Chambers (LCB Cricket Development Coach – St Helens) commented: “Along with passing on her coaching expertise, Danielle hosted a question and answer session which all the girls and parents fully enjoyed. I’d like to thank Danielle for making the time to attend our girls training session and hope it will inspire some of them to possibly follow in her footsteps. My thanks also go to Ian Harrison (Chairman of Rainford CC) for hosting and providing an excellent buffet.” Also in attendance was Gemma Harkness (Sports Development Officer for St Helens) who was available to answer any queries regarding Women’s sport in the St Helens district. The Girls play at three age groups: U11s, U13s and U15s and train every Wednesday at Newton-le-Willows Cricket Club, 5:00pm – 6:15pm.
