Lady Taverners Applications Open for 2014
Venues and Dates Launched for the 2014 Competition
As current National Lady Taveners Champions at U13 level thanks to Ormskirk School we are looking for Lancashire to retain that title in 2014 and maybe add the U15 title as well!
With an aim to provide quality Indoor Cricket Competitions for U13 & U15 Secondary School Girls during the winter months, the Lancashire Cricket Board invites your school to enter the Lady Taverners Indoor U13 and / or U15 Girls 8-a-Side Comps.
The aim of these Indoor Cricket Competitions is to provide girls with an opportunity to play and develop within the game. Inter Cricket is an inclusive game which bridges the progression from softball to hardball cricket. For the majority of girls taking part it will be their first chance to play cricket and is a great way to introduce the game.
For all local area competitions Inter Cricket equipment is desirable, however, wooden bats and junior sized incrediballs will be used for match play. Inter Cricket equipment will be provided for use at all local and County Finals days and if so preferred schools may bring their own.

We have a limited amount of entries for 2014 and entries will be based on a first come first served basis.
U13’s County final will be held on Tuesday 4th March at Robin Park sports centre.
U15’s County final will be held on Tuesday 11th March at Robin Park sports centre.
All regional and national finals will be confirmed at a later date.
The whole tournament is based on the development of Girls Cricket in Secondary Schools. The ECB / LCB see this as a high priority and the competition is a great tool to raise the profile of Girls Cricket across the county within schools. We also use this as talent identification for potential county players.
At local and county tournaments, teachers will have the opportunity to meet Jen Laycock (LCB Women and Girls Cricket Development Officer) and in some cases your local Cricket Development Coaches who will be able to offer advice and support to schools on topics ranging from Coaching in Schools, Competitions and other cricket resources.
If your school would like to participate in this year’s competitions, please complete the attached form(s) and enclose relevant entry fee, returning to Jen Laycock at the details provided on the form. The entry fee is £15 per team, which will contribute to venue hire costs. Please make cheques payable to “Lancashire Cricket Board”. Closing dates for entry is Friday 13th December 2012.
Please clearly indicate on your application forms your preference of venue. Please note preferences will be given on a first come first served basis and if there are more entries then can be fulfilled at the above venues, other venues may be added.
For any information on the competition please contact Jen Laycock, Women and Girls CDO 07713287989 or firstname.lastname@example.org
