Andrew is the current Director of the Lancashire Cricket Board and came in to post in April 2002.
He started playing at Swinton Methodists CC (now known as Swinton Moorside CC) and moved to Worsley CC before being selected for Lancashire. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-pace bowler (an effective all-rounder). During a twelve-year first-class career, Andrew played for Lancashire, Somerset, where he captained them for 3 years commencing 1994 and finally finished playing first class cricket at Derbyshire, where he held assistant and first team coach positions as well.
Since being appointed the Director of the LCB in April 2002, he has been instrumental in ensuring the Board performs as a high performing County delivering high quality programmes from playground to county.
