Scotland road trip
Seniors travel to Scotland, U13s faulter at Harrogate
The county games started off well this week with the U17 girls beating a strong Warwickshire side with great bowling performances from Hayley Martinus and Alex Hartley. The U13 vs. Yorkshire didn’t go the same way unfortunately. We arrived in the sun and left as the heavens opened! Lancashire batted first, 99 all out, not quite enough on a hard wicket. Yorkshire got off to a flying start and were 50 for 3 at 15 overs and well on target. The rain came and went and we managed to get back on. We slowed proceedings but with 8 overs left they needed just 10 runs. Some good bowling under pressure meant we took 7 wickets in the end but Yorkshire got over the line. Let’s put this behind us and have 2 good games vs. Cumbria and Northumberland next week.
I am writing this in a hotel in Stirling in preparation for the senior game vs. Scotland tomorrow. A team meal and few games of snooker will hopefully have set us for a win. A busy 2 weeks in the pipeline for the senior side with Scotland at Home next Sunday followed by 20/20 tournament and a replayed game vs. Netherlands on 5th August.
We wish Arran Brindle best of luck tomorrow playing for Sussex. Thats all for now, early night for us all big game tomorrow.
