Week 5 Girls County Fixtures

Week Commencing 3rd June saw many fixtures planned but little cricket played

Sunday 3rd June - Lancashire Women vs Netherlands @ Urmston CC - Cancelled due to rain

Monday 4th June - Lancashire Women vs Wales @ Haydock CC. Lancashire Women Win.

Lancashire won the toss and elected to bowl on a green, damp wicket. Jasmine Titmuss and Kate Cross took the new ball and bowled tightly but without success. Natalie Brown came into the attack and immediately made an impact. She removed their top 5 batters, bowling 10 overs for just 9 runs. Bhumika Doshi picked up two wickets and Jasmine picked up a wicket in the last 10 overs. We struggled to remove the lower order and from being 54 for 8 they batted their 50 overs to make 110 for 9. Lancashire started slowly in reply but kept wickets in hand meaning we didnt have to panic at any point. Emma Lamb batted sensibly and ended up 40* with Kate Cross making 38 we reached the total with 3 wickets down in 39 overs. A good win for the girls and we hope to take this momentum forward.
