Rainford CC’s Juniors Complete Most Successful Season
Rainford Cricket Club’s Junior Section have just completed their most successful season in the club’s history.
The recent presentation evening celebrated the success of all the age groups from Under 9s to Under 18s.
The Under 11s, Under 13s and Under 15s all won the A Divisions in the Southport and District Junior League, a feat never before achieved in the League.
The Under 13s were undefeated in the Merseyside Youth Cricket Competition and won their Sunday morning League group. The Under 15s, semi finalists in the Lancashire round of the ECB U15 National Club Championship, were also joint winners of the U15 Southport and District League Cup with Mawdesley, shared due to bad weather. The Under 18s finished in second place to Skelmersdale in the Under 18s League.
Pride of place at the Jubilee Recreation Ground goes to the Under 11s who have won an incredible five competitions. They have been successful in the St Helens Indoor Cup, the Southport and District U11 League, the Southport and District U11 Cup, the Wigan League U11 Pairs Competition and the Wigan League U11 Cup.
In addition the club has provided 19 boys and girls at St Helens District Representative Level as well as 6 Lancashire County Players, Dan Harrison, Ellie Threlkeld, Cameron McCulloch, Becky Cline, Joe Noctor and John Dotters.
