Local Club Bow Out at Semi Final Stage

Chorley CC from the Northern League in the ECB National Club Championship.

Chorley CC of the Northern League attempted to make it 4 finals in 20 years of the ECB National Club Championship, now known as The Royal London National Club Championship at Windsor Park, Chorley on Sunday 31st Aug when they faced Sandiacre Town CC of the Derbyshire Premier League who won the competition in 2003.

Chorley won the toss and elected to bowl. They reduced Sandiacre Town CC to 194 all out from 44.3 overs, however Sandiacre bowled Chorley out for 159. Chorley lost by 35 runs. Full scorecard available here: http://ecb.play-cricket.com/view_results_details?id=12063847.

Chorley had won the competition back in 1994, 1995 and were Runners-Up in 1996 under the captaincy of Roland Horridge, making history in the process being the only club to retain the title and make the final in three consecutive years.
