Scorers’ Initiative Update

About a year ago the LCB Association of Cricket Officials reported on this website a Scorers’ Initiative launched by the ECB ACO.

The aim initiative was to identify scorers throughout the country that could be graded at an appropriate level without completing an examination. This proved reasonably successful in Lancashire with 28 scorers around the county coming forward. As a result the following were graded:

  • 2 at Level 3
  • 20 at Level 2
  • 5 at Level 1a
  • 1 at Level 1

It was very pleasing to see just how many excellent scorers the county has, but I am sure there are more.

The initiative will continue next year so it is not too late for scorers to come forward to have a grading if they wish, however it will no longer be free for existing members of the LCB ACO. Cost of assessment will be £30. An applicant will be assessed on their scorebook and their knowledge through a short appraisal. If any scorer is interested in being assessed then please contact Karen Knott on [email protected]  for further information before March 31st 2013. It would be favourable to do the assessments during the winter months as during the summer everyone is extremely busy so an early request would be appreciated.

Karen Knott (LCB ACO Scorer’s Officer)
