The Laws of Cricket - Running Out the Nonstriker

Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Thanks to the MCC, in October 2013, they released a first set of animations aimed to help young players, novices and casual fans develop a greater understanding of the Laws of Cricket.

The animations, which have been released in English, Hindi and Urdu, focus on five of the more complex and misunderstood aspects of the Laws – including LBW and running out the non-striker. It is the first time that the Club has portrayed the Laws in this way and more information is available on their website at: http://www.lords.org/mcc/laws-of-cricket/laws-of-cricket-animations/.

Animations are brilliant. What we've been waiting for, for years and years.
Any chance of a DVD. We have a TV screen in full view of the players (and umpires !) whilst devouring their tea, so it would not only be useful, but also would avoid potential friction on the pitch afterwards. Would also help juniors who are too embarrassed to ask.

Dear David,

Many thanks for your comment. We're pleased you enjoyed the animations released by the MCC. Could we suggest if you want to get copies of them on DVD, please contact the LCB Association of Cricket Officials (LCBACO) in particular Peter Robinson on petenang@wart.fsnet.co.uk or John Smith on 01257 415251.

You could also contact the MCC direct and see if they are able to assist in any way on 020 7616 8500.

Kind regards,

Lancashire Cricket Board
