John Holder, former Test Match and First Class umpire, attended Bolton Sixth Form College to present certificates to students that had successfully completed their Level 1 qualification in Umpiring.

John who has umpired 11 Test Matches, 19 ODIs and countless first class county matches, gave the boys an insight into his time as a top level umpire and how he started out. He explained how vital young umpires and scorers are to our game and that these newly qualified Level 1 umpires can go on to help local leagues and clubs and move up the officiating ladder.

If you're interested in umpiring or scoring at your local club or league, then find out how you can register for a course at our dedicated LCBACO web pages: www.lancashirecricket.co.uk/officials.
