Bolton Sport and Physical Activity Awards - Nalisha Patel Winner
BOSPAA - Sports Achiever of the Year Winner for her efforts in 2012 was Nalisha Patel.
The Bolton Sport and Physical Activity Awards for efforts in 2012 was held last week on Friday 20 September 2013. With 3 of the 8 nominees in the Sports Achiever of the Year 2012 current Lancashire cricketer's, the LCB were well represented.
The awards celebrate the sporting achievements of the past 12 months of teams, coaches and individuals. With 70 people and 10 teams in the running for titles the event was one of high profile.
The 3 nominees from the LCB ranks were:
Haseeb Hameed (16) attends Bolton School and was the runner up in the award. He regularly scores runs from Bolton School, Lancashire and England as well as his local club Farnworth Social Circle.
Joshua Bohannan (16), captain of Bolton district winning the prestigious title of district champions along with top scorer and Man of the Match in the final at Old Trafford last year. Josh attended Harper Green High School and plays his cricket at Farnworth Social Circle.
Nalisha Patel (15) attends Bolton School Girls Division and has a number of accolades against her name already. At just 14 Nalisha was part of the England Women’s Development Programme at U19 level in 2012 and again in 2013. She is an off spinner who made her 1st X1 Lancashire Women’s debut in 2012. She currently plays cricket at Horwich RMI CC and Bolton Ladies.
Well done to all nominees, its an honour to be recognised at this level.
Nalisha was the winner of the Sports Achiever of the Year and will now go on to represent the Bolton area in the Greater Manchester Awards on November 8th, ironically at Emirates Old Trafford in The Point. All at LCB wish Nalisha the best of luck.
