Women's 1st X1 Squad vs Ireland & Somerset selected

A double header awaits Lancashire Women this weekend.

The womens 1st X1 start their season with a big opening weekend. This Sunday at Liverpool CC 11am start sees them take on Ireland, who have recently returned from the T20 World Cup and showed some good form out there. The squad will then travel down to Somerset Sunday evening to play them on Bank Holiday Monday. A tough opening weekend but one the girls are ready for. They have had a good winter with many players getting opportunities to test themselves at the next level. Within the 1st X1 selected at the weekend there will be Kate Cross England Women recently returning from the World Cup and also an Ashes winner. Georgia Holmes spent 2 weeks with the England Academy out in Sri Lanka and also completed a pre-season camp with the MCC YC's out in Spain. Emma Lamb, Nalisha Patel, Bhumika Doshi all spent the winter in the England Womens Development Programme at U19 level. Emma Lamb has also spent the winter with the LCCC academy under the coaching of John Stanworth. Hannah Jones and Ellie Threlkeld will join the 1st X1 for the first time and possibly make their debuts over the weekend. Both are currently part of the England Womens Development Programme at U15 level.
