LCB & ECB player pathways provide opportunities for better cricketers from schools and clubs to play for their District and ultimately the County.

District Cricket

The development of DISTRICT (TOWN TEAM) CRICKET across the county has been a major priority of the LCB. Over the past few years there has been a massive increase in the amount of District Cricket being played with each of the three Cricket Partnership Groups across the county embracing this type of cricket. Alongside these developments the long-standing county-wide competitions have been controlled by the Lancashire Schools Cricket Association.

Excellence Cricket

The Development of Excellence Committee within the LCB Executive structure has a responsibility for overseeing the Development of Excellence programme throughout the County. The prime focus is on the County Age Groups boys and girls from Under 11 to Under 19 level.

The U11 to U16 age group programmes and Emerging Players Programme (EPP) is under the direction of Stephen Titchard (LCB Performance Manager). The U17 and U19 boys age groups under the direction of John Stanworth (LCCC Academy Director).

The committee is assisted in this by the Lancashire Federation who help organise the Under 19s programme and by LSCA who assist boys age groups from Under 11 to Under 15.

As part of the process of ensuring all potential players of the future are identified and developed the LCCC and LCB jointly introduced the LEVELS OF EXCELLENCE SCHEME.
