Abid & Griffiths Called Up for England U19

Muhammad Abid and Gavin Griffiths have both been called up to the England U19s squad for the forthcoming tour to Bangladesh.

Abid (pictured below), who is in the Lancashire Academy and plays his club cricket at Denton St Lawrence CC, is a right-handed batsman who can bowl leg spin. Griffiths, also an Academy player who was awarded the Cedric Rhoades Young Player of the Season for Boys in 2010 (pictured above), is a right-arm fast bowler who plays for Ormskirk CC.

Kent all-rounder Adam Ball will captain the 15-man tour party which includes eight players who featured in this summer’s One-Day series against South Africa.

England U19s are due to depart the UK on January 12th for a seven-match series of U19 One-Day Internationals against their hosts with the first encounter due to take place in Chittagong on January 20th.
