After losing their last game in Notts to the weather it was vital that the Under 14’s got this game in against Durham. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved at Kirkham & Wesham the match started on time. Chris Brownlow tops cored with 56 and was well supported by Dominoc Morris and Harrison Phelan as Lancashire posted a good total of 191. Cumbria were never really in the hunt at all as wickets fell steadily. Michael Jones came on near the end to finish the match in style with 3 for 3.
Sunday July 15th v LINCOLNSHIRE at Grimsby CC
LANCASHIRE 123
LINCOLNSHIRE 80 (Smith 3-22)
Lancashire won by 43 runs
Back in action after a gap of two weeks the Under 14’s eventually won comfortably. After winning the toss we elected to bat but found the wicket to be a problem after weeks of rain. We were bowled out for 123 with an over still remaining. Our top scorers were James Seward with 24 and Chris Brownlow with 20. We were confident we had enough and this proved to be the case. Jake Brown took three wickets and apart from a brave 50 from one Lincolnshire player the game ended with a good win.
