Lancashire U15s National Champions

Lancashire won the ECB Under 15 County Cup by a 63-run victory over Hampshire in the final at Oakham School on Friday 17 August.

The Lancashire team, who also won the ECB Under 14 County Cup Final the previous year, beat Buckinghamshire in the semi-final on Thursday 16 August to setup a final against Hampshire the day after.

Lancashire scored 303 for 8, after being put in to bat. Half centuries from Callum Turner (75), Callum Parkinson (61) and Mark Waddington (51) were the highlights of the Lancashire innings.

Lancashire dismissed Hampshire for 240 in the 46th over despite the efforts of their captain Joe Weatherley who scored 92. Matthew Parkinson getting figures of 3 for 47 and 2 wickets each for Mahmood and Bohannon.

Stephen Titchard (U15s Head Coach) said: "The challenge for this group of players was to win this competiton having been successful the year before and I am personally delighted they have achieved this. The team has shown determination and passion throughout the season and have been rewarded by increasing their skill levels in the one day format and remaining focussed at all times. I would like to thank all players, parents and management who have been involved this year."
