Lancashire girls selected for ECB Junior Super 2’s
Two Lancashire girls selected for ECB Junior Super 2's in Brighton.
The LCB congratulates two of its younger girl players in being selected for the National Super 2’s Event in Brighton from May 31st to June 2nd. Emma Lamb and Bhumika Doshi are following 5 other Lancashire girls, Nat Brown, Katie Cross, Jasmine Titmuss, Alex Hartley and Arran Brindle who were selected for the National Super 4’s Competition a few weeks ago.
Tony Potter (Lancashire Senior Women Head Coach) commented: “This is an unprecedented number of girls involved in the National set up and shows the development that has taken place within Lancashire over the last few years.”
Selection for the Super 2’s competition was made as a result of strong performances in the County Competitions last season.
Clare Connor from the ECB said: “We started the Junior Super 2s strand of our pathway in 2009 and I can see already that our talent pool is growing and becoming more competitive as a result of the support and opportunities players are given within their Counties.”
Emma Lamb from Leyland Cricket Club is a talented right hand batter who scored many runs for Lancashire Under 13 Girls’ team last season.
Bhumika Doshi from Astley Bridge Cricket Club combines her right arm swing bowling with some attractive stroke play and has put in some excellent all-round performances for Lancashire Under 15 Girls’ and made her debut for the full Lancashire Senior Women side in the County Championship last season.
We wish them the very best of luck in their cricket at Brighton College.
