Lancashire Women's Midweek League begins

Longridge, Vernon Carus, Darwen and Fylde were winners in round one of fixtures

After months of preparation, meetings, consultations with clubs we finally got the midweek womens league up and running this week. Of the 10 teams entered, 8 of them completed games this week. 2 clubs had the week off due to 5 teams in each group.

Fixtures and results as follows:

Wednesday 11th July - Longridge vs Rawtenstall - Longridge beat Rawtenstall by 101 runs - Nicki Wilcox from Longridge scored 101*.

Wednesday 11th July - Vernon Carus vs Ormskirk - Vernon Carus beat Ormskirk

Thursday 12th July - Darwen vs St Helens - Darwen beat St Helens by 4 runs - a close game with some key performances from the younger players in both sides.

Thursday 12th July - Fylde vs Lancaster - Fylde beat lancaster by 9 wickets

Well done to all the girls who played in these fixtures, especially those who made their debut for teams, some of whom made their cricket debut! Fingers crossed for some more sunny weather for the rest of the fixtures.
