Girls Club Softball Competition at U11 and U13 open for entries
Lancashire will host a festival for U11 and U13 girls softball competition for the first time in 2014.
For the first time Lancashire will be running a festival for the Lady Taverners Club softball competition at U11 and U13 girls. This competition is for clubs only and for girls who fit into the age categories. If you wish to enter a team made up of girls from a number of clubs you may do so under one club name not a district name.
The aim of the competition is an introduction to cricket, to have fun and encourage participation by all. Winners of the county competition will go through to a regional round held by the ECB week ending 27th July.
The rules are attached to the right however some of the main rules are detailed below:
Use of wooden bats-players may use their own or the clubs. There will be some spare bats.
Pink junior incrediballs will be used and provided
Kwik cricket stumps will be provided
There will be a certificate for each player taking part along with medals for runners up and winners plus a trophy for the winning club.
Squad of 10 players on the day with 8 playing at one time.
Your club must provide one umpire (this may be a coach) for the competition.
At U11 the batters will bat in pairs and lose runs for wickets. At U13 the batters will be out when they are out.
Under 11 club softball on 8th June @ TBC 10am start. Finish approx 2pm
Under 13 club softball on 15th June @ TBC 10 am start. Finish approx 3pm.
