Jonathan Finch takes the reins of 1st X1 Women's side for 2012
A slight shift in personnel sees Tony Potter taking on the Team Manager role and Jonathan Finch becoming Head Coach.
Jonathan Finch is going to be sharing his knowledge and passion with the Lancashire Senior Women's side in 2012. He also works in the England Pathway as England Women's Development Programme Head Coach and England Women's Academy Assistant Coach.
The women will face some new opponents this year due to the re-structure by the ECB and we feel Jonathan will be able to ready the squad for this challenge. His experience coaching at the top level will only help the girls in our squad to develop and progress. We have girls who are pushing at all levels on the England Development programme from 14 years old through to 20 years old and wish to give them the best grounding through our County system we can.
Jonathan commented on his appointment: "Having been involved in the boys performance programmes for 9 years the opportunity to become Head Coach for the Senior Women's Squad is a great opportunity and challenge. I am looking forward to working with players and coaches throughout the Women & Girls pathway to help develop an increasing number of players ready to perform at senior level for many years to come."
Stephen Titchard (LCB Performance Manager) added: "Jonathan has developed his skills as an LCB County boys age group coach over the past few years. He has more recently been able to transfer these skills into the Women’s and Girls’ game with the ECB. We are very fortunate to have secured his services for the forthcoming 2012 season and I am sure that he will bring a different dimension to their programme. The squad will face different challenges this season as they aim to progress within the ECB structure."
Jenny Laycock (LCB Women and Girls Cricket Development Officer and 1st X1 Captain) commented: "This is an exciting appointment from my point of view and I am confident the team will take this opportunity to improve and excel."
Fixtures for all Women and Girls matches for 2012 are almost ready and will be released on this website soon.
