After winning their previous 3 matches, Lancs Ladies were looking forward to their match against Devon at Wigan CC with relish.

However things did not turn out the way they would have liked as they put up a below-par performance to lose by 7 wickets. Lancs 146 all out Devon 147 for 3. The Devon Girls outplayed their Lancashire counterparts in most aspects of the game bowling and fielding with skill and tenacity and batting with poise and skill. The bright spots for Lancashire were produced by the three youngest members of the squad. Emma Lamb produced a gritty 40 runs after opening the innings and was Lancs top scorer. Nalisha Patel took two more wickets to add to the 5 in her last match and wicket keeper Hannah Till took a spectacular diving catch behind the stumps. All in all though a performance to forget and time to look forward to the 20/20 competition which takes place next Monday and Tuesday 30th and 31st July at Denby CC near Derby.
