Successful Start for Lancashire Women Under New Captain Titmuss
Lancashire Women 1st X1 have started well under the new management team of Captain Jasmine Titmuss and Lead Coach Derek Morgan.
Titmuss who has represented England at Academy Level took over the captaincy from Jenny Laycock who relinquished the role due to her commitments with the LCB at the start of the 2013 campaign. Titmuss has made an impressive start with wins over Cheshire, Staffordshire, Worcester and Somerset.
These results see the team top of the National Division 2 competition and nicely placed to challenge for promotion to Division 1.
Titmuss says: “I am delighted with the start we have made. The team has performed well in all of our disciplines and we are really enjoying the challenge. We have a good mixture of experienced players aligned with some exciting young prospects. The second half of the competition is now what matters and I’m sure we can keep this form going when we play matches against Wales, Devon, Durham and Ireland.”
Stephen Titchard, LCB Performance Manager added: “This has been an excellent start to the campaign with some good individual performances and a feel of confidence about the team. The new management team of Jasmine and Derek (Lead Coach) added to the experience of team manager Tony Potter has worked well so far.”
