The LCB Coaches Association

The Lancashire Cricket Board Coaches Association (LCBCA) was set up at an Inaugural General Meeting on 27th April 2007.
The following people were elected to office at that meeting.

President: John Abrahams
Chairperson:
Tony Potter
Vice- Chairperson: Richard Dearden
Secretary:
Brian Woodhead
Treasurer:
Gerry Thomas
Committee Representatives (Two from each area)
Lancs: Nigel Brown, John Rain
Greater Manchester: John Brierley, Jonathan Partington
Merseyside: No nominations (Shaun Anders has since been co-opted)

The three LCB Cricket Development Managers will also serve on the committee:
Paul Bryson, Merseyside
Rudra Singh, Lancashire
Bobby Denning, Greater Manchester

The Coaches Association is charged with a number of functions which include the following:-

  • Supporting County, Regional and National Conferences.
  • Delivering national policy locally.
  • Driving and supporting the growth of membership.
  • Supporting national publications.
  • Delivering and supporting Coach Education initiatives.
  • Provide coach development plans and pathways
  • Delivering Coach Education courses
  • Drive recognition and reward schemes.

To this end a concerted effort is to be made to improve communications to the 1000 or so coaches that we have in the county by collecting e-mail addresses from as many as possible. We have at present about 250 e-mail addresses in our database.
This will enable us to disseminate information and news to all our coaches in a more efficient way. If you are an active ECBCA member you might want to send your e-mail address to
Tony Potter
in order to be included on our database.
Also there would seem to be a strong need for Specialist Coaching Sessions so we hope to fill the void in this area by running some specialist events during this coming winter. Please keep an eye on this website for further news.

Tony Potter (Chairperson)
