2010 ‘LADY TAVERNERS’ Indoor U13 & U15 Girls 8-A-Side Competitions
With an aim to provide sustainable and suitable Indoor Cricket Competitions for U13 & U15 Secondary School girls during the winter months, the Lancashire Cricket Board invites your school to enter the 2010 Lady Taverners Indoor U13 and / or U15 Girls 8-A-Side Competitions.
The aim of these Inter Cricket Indoor Competitions is to provide young girls with an opportunity to play Indoor Cricket, hasten their progress to the standard game and to encourage fair participation by all. Inter Cricket is a game which bridges the progression from softball to hardball cricket and meets the needs of the National Curriculum.
Inter Cricket equipment, score sheets and umpires will be provided for at all competitions. If your school brings their own equipment please make sure it has your school’s name on every item within the Inter Cricket bag.
6 teams will progress to the County Finals to be held at Lancashire CCC, Indoor Cricket Centre, Old Trafford at a date TBC.
The Lancashire Cricket Board has again placed the development of girls’ cricket in Secondary Schools as a high priority, this competition is all about raising the profile of girls’ cricket across the county within our schools.
It will also give teachers the opportunity to meet their Cricket Development Managers (CDMs) and in some cases Community Cricket Development Coaches. They will be able to offer advice and support to schools on topics ranging from coaching in schools, competitions, resources, equipment, grant aid and tickets to Lancashire County Cricket Club matches.
If your school would like to participate in next year’s competitions, please complete and return the attached forms - U13 and / or U15 and relevant entry fee. Entry fee is £10 per competition, to help us with venue hire costs. Please make cheques payable to “Lancashire Cricket Board”.
Closing dates for entry is no later than Tuesday 01 December 2009. You are able to download the forms below and enter your school. Rules will be sent on receipt of your entry and full payment.

Rules - Amendments for 2010 Competitions
12.6 (new) The LBW law will not be applied unless the batter deliberately blocks the ball from hitting the wicket
12.7 (new) Batters can be caught out off of any wall or the ceiling except for the boundary wall
15.3 1 run will be awarded if the ball hits the wall and the batters do not run. The ceiling counts as a wall
15.5 3 runs will be awarded if the ball hits the wall and the batters complete a run. The ceiling counts as a wall
15.10 (new) 1 run shall be awarded if the ball is thrown by a fielder following fielding the ball and the ball hits any wall or the ceiling. This rule can apply more than once during the same delivery.
