Lancashire 2nd innings (f/0) 119-4 trail by 50 runs, Balderson 3* Bruce 12*
George Balderson and Tom Bruce have made it through to the close, and a lot will depend on them tomorrow if Lancashire are to have any chance of getting a meaningful target on the board.

Nightwatchman Will Williams didn't last long, bowled by Nathan Gilchrist for 1.

Calamity! Keaton Jennings advances down the track to Matt Parkinson and is brilliantly stumped by Harry Finch who takes a wide leg side delivery and manages to get back and dislodge the stumps.

Will Williams comes in as nightwatchman.

Keaton Jennings and Josh Bohannon had just posted their 50 partnership off 62 balls before Bohannon goes for 31 off 43 balls, caught at slip driving at Joey Evison.

And Lancashire go past their first innings score with Keaton Jennings and Josh Bohannon going along in positive fashion.

The weather has improved too in the last 40 minutes or so, with light cloud and some sunshine that appears to have helped batting conditions ease a bit as we go into the last 12 overs of the day.

More positive strokeplay from Keaton Jennings and Josh Bohannon keeps the scoreboard ticking over.

Kent have brought Joey Evison into the attack for the first time in the match.

Luke Wells has gone, edging a drive at Nathan Gilchrist to Jack Leaning at second slip.

Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings have started the second innings well, taking 46 off 8 overs.

But batting is still tricky with the Kent seamers finding some good seam movement and getting the ball past the bat.

Keaton Jennings has nicely timed a couple of boundaries in the last over by Grant Stewart as Lancashire bat again after Kent enforced the follow-on.

Will Williams is the last wicket to fall after nicking Nathan Gilchrist behind for 3, to give the Kent seamer a career-best 6-24.

No great surprise that Kent have enforced the follow-on.

Matty Hurst has gone on the attack to good effect, scooping Grant Stewart for six and pulling Agar over fine leg for another in an over that cost the Kent seamer 17 runs.

But it has also brought about his demise, caught on the deep midwicket boundary when pulling Nathan Gilchrist to Zak Crawley after making 36. 

Gilchrist now has 5-19.

A disastrous session for Lancashire who have struggled against some great bowling by the three-man seam attack this afternoon.

Tom Hartley drives at wide delivery from Nathan Gilchrist and edges to Zak Crawley at first slip.

The Kent attack continue to exploit the overcast conditions, finding movement off the pitch and bowling a good line around off stump.

Another wicket falls as George Balderson edges Nathan Gilchrist to Joe Denly at slip for 2.

Nathan Gilchrist produces a lovely delivery that seams away from George Bell who edges behind for 5.

Lancashire are in trouble after losing three wickets in four balls.

Josh Bohannon bottom edged a pull off Nathan Gilchrist on to his stumps for 9, before Wes Agar took two wickets in two balls; Keaton Jennings edging behind for 4 and Tom Bruce lbw first ball.

Lancashire lose an early wicket with Luke Wells departing for 10 after Wes Agar bowling around the wicket, angles a delivery into the left hander who is squared up a touch and edges to Jack Leaning at second slip.

Kent have their batting point but Matt Parkinson departs after edging to fourth slip to give Will Williams his 200th first-class wicket!

Nathan Gilchrist edges behind off Tom Bailey for 10 to bring former Lancashire leg spinner Matt Parkinson to the crease with Kent needing 2 runs for a batting point.

Lancashire take the new ball immediately after lunch and Joey Evison gets a thick outside edge, driving at Tom Bailey, that goes past third slip for four.

Kent have made some decent progress, adding 36 runs and losing one wicket in that 40 minute session with Nathan Lyon now having taken three wickets including Agar (below).

Meanwhile the rain has stopped and the groundstaff are removing the covers.

Good morning from a soggy Emirates Old Trafford ahead of the second day our Vitality County Championship match against Kent.

Heavy overnight rain followed by light rain this morning means we will have a delayed start.

The groundstaff have been busy mopping up once again, but while this light drizzle continues to fall, the covers remain in place.

Kent are 203-7 in their first innings with Joey Evison 50 not out and Wes Agar 4 not out.
