LCS Courses 2013

The Lancashire Cricket Board are pleased to announce the 2013 Lancashire Coaching Scheme (LCS) courses.

As the Governing Body for cricket in Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside responsible for promoting the game of cricket at all levels, the LCS gives young cricketers the opportunity to learn, improve and enhance their skills and knowledge of the game.  It is available to both Primary (years 4, 5 and 6) and Secondary (years 7, 8 and 9) ages providing them with 8 weeks of coaching at foundation or advanced levels taking place at various clubs / venues across the County.

The LCS is designed to bring coaching to you!  At foundation level it will provide cricketers with tools to develop their basic technique whilst the advanced level will provide the opportunity for young cricketers to receive development plans and strategies using video analysis to improve their game.

The LCS proved extremely popular in its pilot year last year and as a result we have 11 courses running through the winter in 2013 across the County.

Andrew Hayhurst (LCB Director) said:  "This programme has been extremely successful and we received a huge amount of interest during the pilot year.  This stems from the massive increase in cricket participation amongst youngsters over the past few years due to the Chance to Shine programme and our own efforts. We are ever challenged by ECB to be more self sufficient and not rely on national programmes as a source of funding. We hope that this programme will prove even more popular with 38 courses available across the County providing opportunities for youngsters, in every region of Lancashire, at all levels, to access the game."

Every person booked on the course will receive a FREE Lancashire Coaching Scheme training top which is to be worn at all sessions.

Other merchandise is available to purchase at an extra cost which will include a hoody, cap and shorts.  These can all be personalized with initials and will define the professionalism of the LCS. Visit: LCS Merchandise Online Order.

Hi Alec,

Thank you for your comment.

The PDFs above seem to be working fine and downloading, please try again. You may want to double check you have the latest version of Adobe Reader which you can download and install. Failing this, please e-mail Jasmine at [email protected] and she can send you the PDFs via e-mail.

Hope this helps.

Ash
All Level 3 courses are run on a national basis so there are none that take place locally and none organised by the Lancashire Cricket Board. Before you can be eligible to do Level 3 you have to have completed all the 6 Coach Development Workshops and have passed the Club Coach Assessment. Details of what this all entails can be found on the ECB website.

Hi Ash,

All umpiring courses are advertised on our website in the Umpires and Scorers section at: http://www.lancashirecricket.co.uk/officials. There you will find details of courses run by the LCB Association of Cricket Officials (LCBACO). Currently there are 2 Level 1 courses coming up at BAC(ee) Preston CC and Warton CC (Carnforth). Can I suggest on our website there are contact details of individuals from the LCBACO that run the courses, please contact them to register your interest in a more local course if the 2 mentioned above are a little far for you.

The question about the Level 3 will be answered by our Coach Education Manager - Tony Potter.

Thank you.

I expected to find some comments about courses run in Lancashire for people who want to be coaches to find out how to learn how to become a coach by attending courses for such, in Lancashire. I am very surprised at your lack of information. I would be very gratefull if you would send me a copy of a bronchure giving me the required information. Thanking you in anticipation of your help.
