20/20 round up
first day done in Leicester and Kent
Lancashire under 11 girls start their tour in Kent with a great win over Warwickshire. Lucy Staunton-Turner took charge of the scoreboard and scored her maiden 50 for the county. The team scored 116 for 6 and Warwickshire were only able to get 40 in reply, with Lancashire taking all 10 wickets. Good luck to all for the rest of the week.
The senior’s didn’t get off to the best o starts in Leicester losing to Northamptonshire with poor batting being the theme again. After a very nice lunch (thanks to Kibworth CC tea ladies), we turned the tables and batted first putting 115 on the board. Jess Scothern played a great anchor role batting 18 overs for 48. The game was in the balance at 59 for 1 off 11 overs but Lancashire kept fighting and we managed to push them to the last over. They needed 7 to win and only managed 4 runs thanks to some tight bowling from Jasmine Titmuss. A great team performance well done to everyone!
2 more games tomorrow, if we beat Worcestershire it will put us in the 1st and 2nd place play off in the afternoon. The Under 13s are through to the quarter finals and will play Norfolk at the weekend. Awaiting a ground and a date as yet. Right time for team meal.
